Originally built by Francis FitzHerbert, our historical home has been in our family for over 400 years now, and we feel privileged to be able to share it with you on your big day.
Tissington Hall, the heart of the Peak District, strikes the perfect balance between historical grandeur and relaxed, contemporary sophistication.
The Hall is licenced to hold civil marriages and civil partnerships, as is the East Drawing Room that overlooks the beautiful parkland. Alternatively, if sunny skies allow, you can hold your service on our exquisite Terrace Arcade.
When you visit us, you will see that our venue exudes beauty, character, splendour, and charm. And on the day of your wedding, it is exclusively yours.
The finer details for your wedding ceremony:
The Main Hall can accommodate up to 80 guests.
The East Drawing Room can accommodate up to 30 guests.
The Terrace Arcade can accommodate up to 100 guests.

Tissington Hall
Gardens
Tissington Hall enjoys over 5 acres of wonderful grounds, including a stunning rose garden on the west terrace and herbaceous borders. The gardens provide a beautiful backdrop for capturing your perfect wedding day pictures.
Your
Ceremony
Tissington Hall is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and can offer you a choice of settings in which to host your service.
You may choose from the stone flagged Main Hall, with its superb Jacobean fireplace and dramatic entrance; or the East and West Drawing Rooms which span the width of the house, affording views of the front lawn and the Rose Garden to the rear. There is also the option to get married on the terrace under the arcade, weather permitting!
If you wish you may get married in the charming Church of St. Mary’s, which is just a short walk from the Hall in the centre of the village.

Celebrate
In Style
Expect your wedding guests to be reminiscing forever, after a reception at Tissington Hall.
If the sun is shining, pre-drinks can be held in the glorious gardens – while you escape to capture those precious moments with your photographer. If it is cold or raining, then your guests can mingle over bubbles in the East Drawing Room or the Library.
For the wedding breakfast, and/or the evening party – the The Arboretum Pavilion is the manifestation of elegance. A contemporary but exquisite space – it will dazzle your guests and get them in the mood to celebrate a truly wonderful day.
From the marquee, your guests can look out over the green parkland and trees. And if they look up, they will see two majestic chandeliers, elegantly hanging from a twinkly ceiling.
The interior is light and airy – and the neutral floors and walls can be beautifully dressed to reflect your tastes and colour schemes. But actually, it is perfect, just as it is.

Why leave the beautiful Tissington Estate? We can accommodate up to 17 of your guests within the village.
The bridal suite is a romantic and generous space to end your magical day in. Tastefully decorated and furnished – it comprises of a large bed, a dressing table, a chaise lounge, and a luxurious roll top bath. The sitting room area is also a great space to unwind and swap memories of your special day.
If a handful of your wedding party would also like to stay the night – or for a few days – we would be delighted to have them here.
We have a collection of charming cottages and apartments to ensure your guests get a blissful night’s sleep.
