The market town of Ashbourne ( is a great place to browse the antique shops and take coffee from one of the 9 cafes in the town. It is also home to the annual Ashbourne Royal Shrovetide Football match ( and the Ashbourne Festival at the end of June/beginning of July

There are some fabulous walks around the area ranging from the most treaded-path in England namely Dovedale ( and the circular path around the reservoir at Carsington ( which also hosts a variety of water sports.
